Social Cycling ATX presents: Wednesday Hump Day NOONER Ride! Start the year right with the Social Cycling crew...
Hey all you active daytime people who don't work the regular 9-5! What are you doing in about 3 hours? If you said anything but "going on the Hump Day NOONER Ride!", well let me tell you pardner, you're sorely missing out.
Looks like I have been missing some great Nooners. If you haven't made it out look what you have been missing on Doug's site http://cycling.frenzied.us/ He has been documenting rides since 2008.
Use this event page to suggest places to ride and any changes to make this a more enjoyable experience. Keep in mind this ride is meant for a wide range of abilities.
Meet on the ped. bridge at 11:45 am, get to know your fellow riders..., ride out at 12:15 pm. Ride up a hill or two and head to get a refreshing beverage and ride to get lunch. Rides are between 10 and 20 miles. The route is determined on the fly.
This is a no-drop ride, with hills. All levels are welcome. I encourage the beginners to push themselves to keep up and the faster riders to wait up. If your having trouble with the pace please let me or the group know and we will try to adjust it.
Depart: 12:15 pm.
Map: http://is.gd/gQ5zMBring: water, a lock, a well tuned bike, also some spare tubes & tools wouldn't hurt.
Due to my stupid corporate work schedule I've only attended 2 of these, but they were definitely some of the more fun and decently-paced Social Cycling rides I'd checked out and the people who show up for these are always a good bunch of folk. Throw in coffee and lunch (on your own dime, this ain't Thursday) and you've got a killer mid-day event, so if you want to get in on the action be on the bridge 'round noon and see what's up.
