Halloween Critical Mass! - October 31st - NO COSTUME, NO LOVE!
Well what do you know, this month Critical Mass happens to fall on HALLOWEEN DAY! These rides are always awesome, as is the holiday, so we have the makings for uber-greatness in the works. October 31st, 5PM on the UT West Mall is where you need to be. A bike, costume, your friends, beverages, flashy lights, nudity, music makers, bike-friendly pets, all these things and more are welcome on the ride!
Here's the video from last years' costumed Halloween Critical Mass to whet your appetite (sorry for the quality, Youtube can bite me):
Check out Brian Birzer's pics of last year's ride for more incentive.
If things keep going like they have been over the past few months I expect a HUGE crowd at this ride, BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! After the ride the final destination is going to be the Yellow Bike Project's Halloween Party. On top of being my favorite bicycle advocacy/empowerment organization in town, these guys can throw one hell of a party. Gold sprints, queen cover bands, strong drinks, dancing, they sure know how to make the cute bikers (aka. all of y'all) shake their asses.
And really, what better way to turn a good party into a great party than to roll up with 200+ costumed bikers, fresh from a ride and ready to get down? Maybe 200+ nekkid bikers? That might have to wait 'till next summer, depending on the weather...
Oh and did I mention that October 30th is my 29th birthday? I've seen it foretold both in the stars and in the scrolls of the ancients, this is going to be the Best. Weekend. EVER.
SO BE THERE! Otherwise afterward you'll get to hear all our great stories while wallowing in regret, and who really wants to do that for Halloween?
And for the love of bikes, it's ON Halloween. Would it kill y'all to wear a costume?
... and thanks for all you do.
I can't wait to see all of you lovely kids out there tomorrow!
Thanks, and neither can I.
Ive been counting down the days. tomorrow, finally. This will be my first cm ride.
I can't wait.
