Here's the second of the Friday Night Bike-In Movies that Simon Z of BikeTakeover is hosting at the Treasure City Yellow Bike location. (1720 E. 12th) Since Treasure city is doing a Fashion Show on the 10th, this one skips a week and is on the 17th.
Friday October 17th, 9pm - Kicking It (2008)
In the summer of 2006, while the football world's attention was focused on Germany, thousands of players around the globe were training hard and competing to be part of another world cup...The Homeless World Cup. It began in 2001 as a wild idea to give homeless people a chance to change their lives through an international street soccer competition. Five years later, the annual Homeless World Cup was an internationally recognized sports competition. 500 homeless players from 48 nations would ultimately be selected to represent their country in Cape Town, South Africa—coming from such disparate parts of the world as war torn Afghanistan, the slums of Kenya, the drug rehab clinics of Dublin, Ireland, and the the streets of Charlotte, North Carolina
Yes another movie about kicking a ball around, though this one concerns an entirely different level of competition. This one sounds badass, I'll have to try and make it down, 40oz in tow.
