TODAY: Capital Metro demos their new 3-bike racks!
Nadia and the rest of the city folk want ya'll to know that Capital Metro is going to be downtown this afternoon before the BAC meeting demonstrating their new 3-bike racks. Here are the details of where and when:
We are excited to announce that CapMetro will be displaying demonstration 3-bike racks for their buses before next Thursday’s (the 20th of January) BAC meeting.
From 5:30-6:30PM on the north side of the One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road (next to the rain garden and where the drive-through window used to be) there will be two CapMetro buses on display with demonstration racks. We look forward to getting your feedback on how easy they are to use, etc.
This is also a wonderful opportunity to stay for the BAC meeting. The Bicycle Advisory Council meetings are open to the public and are the main way the City of Austin staff gets feedback on policies, programs, and projects that further cycling in the City. Your feedback and opinions are valuable and we encourage anyone who is interested to participate. The meeting is from 6:30-8:30 PM in the 8th floor conference room of the One Texas Center.
It'll be pretty freaking sweet to see an additional 50% bicycle capacity on city buses.
Little 'ol San Marcos has had 3-bike racks on their buses for years now. About time Austin caught up... =]
