As the latest and possibly greatest(?) Social Cycling ATX endeavor, the Pleasure Ride is an attempt to make social cycling accessible to EVERYONE! I'll let the leader of the ride speak for himself, but I won't let him speak AS himself, since I've found the following several paragraphs become INFINITELY more hilarious if you imagine them being delivered to you in front of a fireplace by Ric Reyes dressed in a smoking jacket and speaking like The Continental. Do it, you'll thank me:

Oh hi. I didn’t notice you there. I’m Ric. Do you have a bike you’ve been meaning to ride but just haven’t found the time? Maybe you don’t feel comfortable riding on the streets but would like to start? Maybe you aren’t sure if you can handle big hills or if you can ride more than a few miles? Maybe you don’t own a bike but a friend loaned you one? Whatever the case may be that’s keeping you off your bike, let me offer you a suggestion.

The Pleasure Ride is a ride aimed at beginners and/or anyone just looking to have a nice slow paced cruise around town. This ride is intended to get you on your saddle more so that you can become better acquainted with your bike and ultimately feel more comfortable riding on the streets in our beautiful city. All bikes are welcome. I don’t care what type of bike it is or where you bought it, it’s a bike, you’re riding and because of that we all win.

We’ll ride anywhere between 3-7 miles at a slow place and we’ll end the ride at a place where you can grab a bite to eat if eating is something you might be into. I know it’s just another passing fad.

So here are the rules. We ride as traffic not against it. We stop at red lights. We yield the right away and let cars pass as best we can. We’re nice to each other and other traffic on the road. No one will be left behind. Please let me know if you need the ride to slow down.
Please bring with you a bike in working order, your lights (front and rear), and a lock. I’d also like to suggest that you wear your helmet and maybe bring yourself some water. A spare tube and tool are always a good idea.

Meet me at the parking lot across from Festival Beach on the corner of Chicon and Jesse Segovia at 6:30PM. We will roll out soon after. We will be ending at Italo's on east 6th and comal. Tasty pizza there.

Let's ride, socialize, and have fun!

Please, try the champagne-ya. Or would you care for a cup of noodles? Does this bottle smell like chloroform to you? We can make love now, or later.

Be at the dead end of Chicon at 6:30pm tonight to experience another chapter in the life of... The Continental.
