February Full Winter Moon Cruise!
DougMC keeping us on track with the latest installment of this lunar cycle's FULL MOON CRUISE! The moon is high Thursday night at 11:59pm, so be on the ped bridge and ready to ride.
Since the heaviest snow usually falls during this month, native tribes of the north and east most often called February’s full Moon the Full Snow Moon. Some tribes also referred to this Moon as the Full Hunger Moon, since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult.
Austin's biking tribes have braved the snow, and we'll do it again if we have to -- though it seems unlikely that this ride will have any, as a low of 50 degrees is currently forecast. But what it lacks in snow will be made up for in riding, so be there!
Be at the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge (now extending all the way across Caesar Chavez street!) at 11:59pm next Thursday night, we ride at about 12:30am.
This one happens immediately after the Social Ride, so expect some new faces on the bridge 'round midnight. I expect this one to get hectic, so don't miss out.
