Urgent Report concerning Friday's Pub Crawl
Though I was not on the pub crawl last Friday (instead getting my drink on at Barflys), my shadow network of tall-bike ninjas, touring spies, and fixed gear saboteurs managed to infiltrate the event nonetheless, and deliver me the following intelligence:
I just thought I'd let you know how our first bike pub crawl went. Our group (which I think peaked at 50 people, but was usually in the 30-40 range) was pretty diverse; we seemed to be mostly UT graduate students, but a number of us saw your blog posting or fliers around town. The Clean Air Force (http://www.cleanairforce.org/) of Texas ended up giving me 100 blinkies to distribute, so a bunch of us had five or so lights in addition to our bike lights...which was amazing to see when we cut through the Capitol Building complex since the building was not lit and all the street lights were off. Only one chipped tooth by some girl in from Portland on our way to the Longbranch (our last stop). We ended up finishing around 11:30, so people still had time to catch up with their other friends (if that's what they wanted to do).
Along with this brief, they managed to procure the following photographs. Watch out for these questionable characters, they're obviously not all there:
So there you have it. If you managed to miss the ride, you're in the same boat as I am. Looks like they had a killer time, though I probably wouldn't serve that brunette anything stronger than a shirley temple.
