Texas Flatland Round-Up IV - This Saturday in San Marcos
The Texas Flatland Roundup (#4) is coming up this weekend in San Marcos. In my opinion flatland is one of the more interesting bicycle sub-cultures, being built around a bicycle that's completely impractical for riding distances, but when tooling around in a parking lot the things they can do on their bikes are nothing short of amazing:
That's the local flatland crew tearing it up at a garage down on Oltorf. Is your mind blown yet? If not then cruise down to the Flatland Jam next Saturday and see them demonstrate their mad flatlanding skills first-hand!
There will be a professional-level competition with a $1,500 purse, as well as amateur, and beginner-level jams. Entry is free to participate or spectate. There are directions on their site if you don't know how to get to the Hays County fairgrounds.
I'll bet one of these guys falling off their bike looks more graceful and badass than I do RIDING mine.
