TOMORROW NIGHT: Bike-in Movie Benefit for Simon! 13 Assassins and BATTLE ROYALE! Fucking A!

The weather is good, the days stay light later, and the time for summer Bike-In Movies is RIGHT FUCKING NOW! A good guy and fixture of the local bike folk community, Simon recently was in a car collision that left him with a broken collarbone and various other scrapes and bruises, and he needs a little bit of help to see him through until he's back to 100%. I KNOW Simon's been a big help to a lot of ya'll through his bike expertise, mad welding skills, bamboo bike wizardry, and in a million other ways so now it's time to show him some love back. Here's what's happening tomorrow night (aka. S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y!):

We're having the first in a summer season of rides to outdoor movies at the velvet rut (inside the warehouse if it's raining) on saturday and unhappily it coincided with one of our bike builders, simon, being sent flying into a parked car by a driver who was running a stop sign and then showed their class by fleeing the scene. He's unable to work for a while so we're making this event a benefit for him.

Come meet us at 8 at the ped bridge for a leisurely freak bike friendly ride around austin to the movie screenings at the velvet rut. hopefully outdoors, maybe indoors if the weathers bad. We'll have a keg, five bucks a refillable cup. the movies are

come out, ride your bike, hang out at the rut, watch some funny violent movies, drink beer and show your support for a fellow cyclist and hit and run victim who's having some hard times.

movies will be screened in the back unless it's thunderstorming, either way just come through. You'll see us.

Battle Royale is fucking dope, and though I haven't yet seen 13 Assassins I've heard great things about it and am pumped for the opportunity to check it out with a bunch of my bike nut friends. Be on the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge at 8pm tomorrow night if you want to ride with the crew, or just show up at the Velvet Rut (Bolm and Springdale) by 10pm if you're mainly interested in film and beer. Bring five bucks and help a guy out or hell bring 10 bucks, a tandem bike and a date to make a night of it. Either way, be there.
