Social Cycling ATX presents: Femme Pedále - LADIES RIDE!
The Social Cycling ATX congolmerate has now sprouted a new tentacle, and this one's JUST FOR THE LADIES! That's right boys and girls, this Sunday is the first Femme Pedále and here are all the gory details:
OH YES IT'S LADIES' NIGHT. Oh, what a night. That's right, the ride you've all been waiting for has reared it's head full of long, lustrous locks. Come meet us next Sunday for our first Ladies' Night Out. We'll start at Festival Beach, ride around like we do, then finish off out at the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge (likely around 9-10pm). After-ride funtastic adventures are up for suggestion.
This ride aims to promote female butts on... bikes via a fun, weekly, ladies-only ride that is geared (pun intended) towards encouraging novice women to feel improvement and ease when riding in groups and to provide more experienced ladies a weekly with our fellow bike sisters. You can expect a pace a little faster than the Thursday Night Social Party Spazztastic Ride, but not quite as fast as the Fast Folks Ladies' Crazy Haul-Ass Ride.
Menfolk, I know you're invited TECHNICALLY, but unfortunately we can't send invitations to girls only by Facebook. Deeply apologetic over here!
ROUTE: stay tuned
WHERE AND WHEN: We meet on Sunday evenings Festival Beach (http://tinyurl.com/48yq5zu ) Get there around 7:00 for some happy talky dancey time. We'll take off around 7:30pm.
HOW: Social Cycling Austin rides AS traffic and NOT AGAINST it. We stop at red lights, yield the right of way and let cars pass as best we can. We don't block intersections. We are cool to both our fellow riders and the other traffic on the road. Basically, don't be a jerk. Listen up to those volunteers who are helping to lead the ride. They are some nice folks and have you best interest in mind. If you have any questions about our the rules, I suggest you check here: http://bicycleaustin.info/laws/austin.html
REMINDER: The goal has always been to create a safe environment for all riders, but as luck would have it we cannot, nor do we desire to, control every rider's behavior. We promote personal responsibility, and it is each rider's responsibility to take care of themselves, and if they choose to ride with us, then they accept those risks inherent in riding a bicycle with a large group of other people riding bicycles.
WHAT YOU NEED: LIGHTS, LIGHTS, LIGHTS, a lock and a bit of money for socializing at the end of the ride.

Shit goes down this Sunday at 7pm, meeting at Festival Beach, just like the TNSR.
Oh and for you fellas posting shit like this on the facebook event page:
Travis Voight: This is sexist. Inclusion by way of exclusion is a sad and moronic way of going about things. How about a ride with out any hipsters or people with short hair?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA holy fucking god you suck. So an exclusory ride is an "ist", who fucking cares? Maybe a group of badass chicks don't want to be outnumbered on a ride 3-1 by a bunch of sweaty leering dudes (aka. me) every ONCE in a while. Go fucking cry about it, sensitive males.
