City kicking into high gear with re-striping and removing parking from bike lanes ?
I just got a WHOLE MESS of emails regarding upcoming re-striping programs the City of Austin's Bike/Pedestrian Program is getting into, and here's the subjects of the various messages that were sent my way:
Victory (Panther to Prather)
Southridge (Banister to Clawson)
Banister (Garden Villa to Ben White)
Eberhart (Cooper to S 1st)
Emerald Forest (Stassney to William Cannon)
Speer (Emerald Forest to Cooper)
Eberhart (S 1st to S Congress)
Gaston Place (Wellington to North Hampton)
Woodrow (Koenig to Anderson)
Fairfield (Maine to Lamar)
Hart Lane (Far West to Spicewood Srings)
Greystone (Chimney Corners to Mesa)
Far West (Mesa to Canyonside)
What's cool about these projects is that beyond simple re-surfacing and re-striping, they're starting to implement City Ordinance No. 20090611-075, (aka. the Bicycle Master Plan) which calls for the elimination of car parking in bicycle lanes. Several of these run through my neighborhood, so I'm looking forward to not seeing as many SUVs and mini-vans in the damn way all the time. On a case-by-case basis they're allowing parking during certain hours to facilitate church and school traffic, but aside from that it looks like they're dead set on removing as much parking from the bike lanes as possible. Makes sense to me.
There are going to be several open houses regarding these modifications over the next week or two. If you're interested in being a part of the process, hit up the planning engineer Neil Kopper at 974-7166 or neil.kopper@ci.austin.tx.us.
Final striping plans will be made available online at
http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/publicworks/bicycle-projects.htm two weeks after the Open House. Way to go CoA!
There is more than one type of penile implant and there is more than one way to remove genital warts. Doctors tend to specialize in one method over the other, so make sure your doctor lays out all the options and refers you to another doctor who can perform the procedure the way you prefer.

Thanks for the info Jason. It takes a while for the loose asphalt chips to work there way into the tar, especially in the bike lanes and on shoulders where there are no cars to pack it down. If you have never had the pleasure of laying down your bike on "SUMMER TIME TEXAS ASPHALT" I would hold off for as long as possible !!!
Any bike lane which allows parking some of the time is effectively inviting it the rest of the time - enforcement becomes difficult, and violators get a far more sympathetic ear.
You ought to go back and read the old coverage of Shoal Creek some time - me and Michael Bluejay have the most of it.
