Laura and Ric present: The Punch It, Chewie! Ride!

The dynamic duo of Laura and Ric are putting together a ride this weekend that you won't want to miss called the Punch It, Chewie! Ride. Yes, like Han says in Star Wars. So if you're one of those nerdy folks who gets all excited over silly stuff like comics, sci-fi, role playing games, the science behind Futurama's heads in jars or any of the other stuff that occupies my thoughts at all hours, you really need to be on this ride as you'll be in damn good company. Hell, there's even a group page to keep you informed of upcoming events, but without further ado here's what's happening this Friday:

I love riding bikes. Honestly, I do. My schedule doesn't always permit me to join weeknight rides, so I'm being proactive and creating a ride that works for me. Plus, I named it after Star Wars and used a fiercely bad ass image of Chewbacca doing what makes us all so happy. What else do you want?

How's about a new ride the first Friday of every month?

The Punch it, Chewie! ride is a moderate urban group ride of 12-15 miles that will start and finish somewhere uniquely awesome to central Austin each time. The Pleasure Ride's Ric Reyes will be assisting me as I come into my own as a Ride Leader. He's my Obi-Wan, and our only hope.

On Friday, August 5th, we'll meet at Cheer Up Charlie's on East 6th at 7:30 pm. Come earlier for delicious trailer eats and drinks. Wheels down at 8:00 pm.

Let's plan to end at the Grackle. Dude, they have cider on tap. 'Nuff said.

We Ride as traffic and not against. We stop at red lights and yield the right of way. We let cars pass as best we can.
YOU WILL NEED: A bike obviously, Lights!, a lock, water if you like to stay hydrated, and a helmet is a good idea.
