FUCK THE PIGS! DOWNTOWN BULLSHIT...

Hey, to anyone who rides downtown on the weekends to party or whatnot or simply just commutes in the area...

Jarred and I were ticketed last night for riding through the barricaded portion of sixth street. I have never heard that this was illegal. I do it during SXSW and the Pecan thing and nada. I mean, I avoid sixth street like the plague usually but we were trying to get somewhere west on sixth and wham, ticketed. Jarred was actually yanked off his ride and handcuffed for not stopping. He simply didn't hear them. Gestapo.

The cop who wrote mine up said they will be cracking down hard in the downtown area on riders who do not comply with traffic laws. In the half hour that we were stopped I saw no less than fifteen kids get pulled over.

I plan to fight the ticket as there are no posted signs. I also plan to NOT change how I ride. Civil disobedience is the name of the game. Be safe, ride hard.
