I want to do something with this page but the amount of spam accounts and comments I get is out of control and it drives me freaking nuts every time I login. Aside from turning on moderate everything, anyone know of a way to cut that shit out? If so please let me know!
I want to revive ATXBS because I think there's a place for it, but if I can't figure out how to make the current platform work I may archive all this shit and just start something new. Check out another blog platform, or maybe even something else entirely.
Either way, it's high time for something new around here.

1) add an admin or two to help you out, somebody to help with the spam nuking and even post events and such that you've missed. Somebody who actually uses the site.
2) any account that has been used to spam will be nuked as the site is cleaned up, and
3) start posting events again, of course, and
4) don't require that all posts be moderated, but perhaps new registrations be moderated -- they can't post until they've been "vetted" somewhat.
Perhaps part of the vetting process is to include a little bit about themselves (what do you ride, where do you live, etc.), just enough to discourage the spammers. If drupal doesn't let you add some fields for them to add stuff, tell them to email holla with the details.
Really, the spam averages to about a post or two a day from what I've seen, so that's not bad -- once it's back under control again, it won't be hard to keep that under control.
It seems like it would be easiest for you to just post your stuff / events / rides on an ATXBS facebook page and just control your settings where only you could post things. On a related note SCA. facebook page has far too many non-essential posts and not enough actual information on rides, events, etc... GOOD LUCK !!!
