Frank turns forty! - Frankenbike #40 - East Side
Looks like everybody's favorite bike swap-meet is turning 40 this month! This go-round the festivities occur on the east side, at 3121 East 12th St (just west of Airport). Since it's closer in town the turnout should be rad. I've gone to these things pretty much every month since I first heard about them and have yet to be disappointed. I mean a slim pickings month means I'm coming home with a $10 Paul lever (usually $100+ for a pair), vintage (and awesomely etched) clip-on cable guides for $1, and all the cable and housing I need to finish a bike for free! And that's a slow month, I'm not even going to get into my big scores *cough*sugino75crankswithduraacechainringfor60bux*cough* because it'd probably make you cry.
Bring what you don't want, look for what you do, and find that unique part you never knew you always needed. The swap runs from noon 'till four, but get there nearer towards the noon end of things for the really sick stuff. And if you're an ebay re-seller and just flip the gear you score locally, may you die the slow, agonizing death of a thousand paper cuts and a lemon juice bath.
Heh, those were my cranks/ring. Hope you're using them. That's why I sold them to you so cheap. I remember looking at your bike and thinking, "This guy is probably going to ride the sh** out of these like I did. He should have them."
Hell, I ride 'em nearly every day...
