City Forum Panel on Bicycle Research - TOMORROW
I've had 3 people email me about this in the last 24 hours, but tomorrow early afternoon there's going to be a panel discussion about Bicycle Research, Planning and Advocacy. Three people will be speaking in total, including Rob D'Amico of the League of Bicycle Voters and Annick Beaudet, Project Manager of the City of Austin Bicycle and Pedestrian Program. BADASS!

City Forum Panel On Bicycle Research, Planning, And AdvocacyMany regard planning for bicycle transportation as an essential element in creating sustainable cities, improving public health, and providing for transportation choices. This panel will explore recent research into ideal configurations for bicycle facilities, the state of planning efforts at the City of Austin, and bicycle advocacy in the Austin area. Panelists will have the opportunity to address the interaction between research, planning, policy, and advocacy.
This thing goes down from noon to 1:30pm in the Texas Union, Sinclair Suite (UNB 3.128) (click for a map). Sounds like some good people are involved so if you can drag yourself out of bed by noon (thanks Full Moon Cruise) and don't have a job to be at (thanks job), check it out! Free lunch (veggie option included) will be provided. Who said there's no such thing as a free lunch?
