In lieu of a thousand words...
This is what he had to say about the experience:
Subject: Nice view from Tour das Hugel.
Jason,
Thought I'd send you a photo (shot by Daniel Norton) from the peak of Ladera Norte (just after climbing Smokey Valley) from last weekend's Tour Das Hugel. This ride continues to be the most grueling thing I face all year, especially since I insist on outfitting my bike for a picnic in the Parisian country side.
Jeff
And leaving modern conveniences to the chumps Jeff did the ride on a steel touring frame with a dyno hub and baggage. HARD FUCKING CORE. That picture alone makes me want to do this race more than anything else I've seen. Next year, it's on...
but you can make it one...
... I'll bet Jeff never lugged his bike up to the top of Mt. Bonnel at 2am either!
As for `in lieu of a thousand words', I don't think a thousand words would be needed. Just going `ow ow ow ow ow' would probably be sufficient. But hey, if the unwashed masses show up at the start of it next year, I'm game ...
I will probably pass out, fall over, and void my bowels halfway up the first hill, but I'm game.
