Takin' it easy.

I know I haven't been updating much, but that's because I've been on VACATION! As in Hawaiian shirts and trips to tourist traps vacation. I'm taking the week off of work and consequently haven't been in front of a computer for 8-12 hours a day. Never fear, I've been getting in tons of bike riding, both on the trails of Walnut Creek (no new scars to speak of, yet) and on the streets of Austin. This cold cloudy weather has been right up my alley, and has made riding a breeze.

I managed to miss the races but I've heard some great shit went down. If you want to read a first-hand account go check out Chris Lee's premiere entry on the brand new ATXFixed blog. Chris is always super posi about everything, I love that shit. He's also one of 3 sXe kids in the entire world I respect, and with my hard stance for better living through chemicals that's saying something. Go see what he has to say, because the weekend sounded incredibly badass. Thanks for the report, Chris!

Not everyone went home entirely happy though, as several tickets were given out for some stupid bullshit. San Marcos cops seem to be all about nailing cyclists, much like our local law enforcement. Glad to hear crime's so in check down there that the cops can go about harassing bikers for getting on the sidewalk to get to a restaurant. Lame.

Beyond all the bike stuff going on I made the trek out to the Shiner Brewery with a couple friends today. That was an awesome trip, with free beer and a bit of local history to go with the excellent company. Thanks for the ride John! If any of y'all ever have the chance to get out there, go do it. It was a nice chill day and was just what I was needing. I'll be back to the fun fun bike shit this weekend, what with a race, a ride and a moon tower cruise to look forward to. See y'all out there!
