Bike Polo Re-start - This Sunday
01/25/2009 - 3:00pm
Looks like the local bike polo games are going to be starting up again this Sunday:
This time around the show is being run by a guy named Robert. He's got all of Mason's old gear plus his own so there are now 10 available mallets, 4 goal sets, and around half a dozen balls. If you want all the dirt check out the Bike Polo thread on TXFixed. 3pm this Sunday at the Bartholomew Pool parking lot on 51st, just east of Berkman. If you've got your own gear bring it, otherwise just show up and borrow a mallet!
Ha, yeah knobbies are way better at blocking shots than disc wheels... they bounce way further... thanks for coming out!
Remember to come out every Sunday at around 4!
Thanks for making room, for me to join in - was cool. Good times - may have to add it to the Sunday ride list.....after Aautbruac at Walnut Creek. The big knobbies work great to block shots - right Robert?!
The Aautbruac turn out was low - total of 2....and was a great day - cool but not cold! While wait'n to see if any body was go'n to show - I saw a guy with an off road uni-cycle - it turn's out they also meet at 12 noon....he was also think'n he'd be rid'n alone. He did say - that once, they had 7 uni's out there - cool!
why coast? - when you can pedal!
2.5 hours of polo is plenty of time. I'm planning on making it to the race so I don't think there will be a problem. We are going to start meeting every Sunday around 3-4 to play polo, we've been trying to get this going for a while now and it just so happened that once we got our shit together it fell on a busy weekend... couldn't give up though, have to see it through, it's too much fun!!
so if this weekend is too busy, there's always the next, and the next, and the ....
Come on dood, there are already 2 HUGE things going on and one of them is for charity. Is today the best day? And yes, I'm a cranky bitch today. hehe

I know dude, not my event. I don't care, as long as all those suckas wrap it up by 5:30 and book it over to the race. Shit's gonna be epic. My ankle is all fucked up from crashing my tall bike Tuesday night, but if it's feeling better Sunday I'm racing and going to the fundraiser. I'll probably miss bike polo this time around.
