10th Thursday Night Road Ride
Looks like the Thursday Night Road Rides are entering their 10th iteration, with each one being even bigger than the one before. 7:00pm at Drungo Ice House this Thursday. Here's the flyer:
The rides have been getting a lot larger as of late (around two dozen this last ride), it's going to be slightly different this time around in that there's going to be a DROP element to it. Here's what Daniel has to say about the matter:
I'm going to be running it differently this week - since it's all in-town, it'll be "friendly-drop." That means that if we can see your light at a regrouping point, we'll wait for you.
A lot of people last week wanted to turn this into a race. It's not a race. If people wanna race, they should pin a number on. The Alsatian County Omnium happens over the weekend (http://www.alsatiancycling.com).
That said, on the standard route, there are two stretches that are basically races: Great Northern and Mount Bonnell. We'll regroup at the end of Great Northern and at the top of Mount Bonnell, so nobody's obligated, but those who wanna flex nuts can do it there.
Also, to avoid confusion, here's a Bikely.com map of the route:

There you have it. I made the last ride and had a blast! Even though I was on my road bike, there were people on mountain bikes, hybrids, brakeless fixed gears, single speeds, and everyone hung in there pretty well. If you haven't had the opportunity to check out a faster ride but don't want to HAVE to strap on all the roadie kit to ride with a club, you should definitely swing by Drungo this Thursday and see what this ride's about.
