Bicycle Rally for Riley - Fundraising Ride - CANCELLED!
Update: This ride has been CANCELLED due to weather. Stay home and rest up for the race and the other fund raisers, y'all.
Typically I don't advertise events that'll cost you more than a tenner to attend, but Chris Riley is my boy and I want to see him get every dollar he can in his effort to be elected to Austin's City Council. He's a good guy, so if you care about transportation issues in town as well as the general economic and social well-being of Austin, see what he's about and consider raising some funding for him:

Chris Riley is running for Austin City Council to bring practical solutions
to the serious challenges our city is facing. A life-long Austinite, he is
also a transportation cyclist who will be a strong advocate for the bicycle
community. Join Chris Riley, candidate for Austin City Council, on a Ride to
highlight the progress and needed improvements to our bicycle
infrastructure, especially bike lanes, trails, and parking.This will be a casual Ride with a route to accommodate various skill
levels.Estimated distance is 12-15 miles. Please plan on starting to
ride at 10:30

I'm not too hip on how these fundraising rides work, I guess it costs you a bill to get into it as an individual, or two if you're in a group, but most of that can come from you getting your friends to pony up. Don't ask me, I'm broke.
I got an email this afternoon from D'Amico saying the event has been canceled due to weather:

Do to the likelihood of less than stellar weather tomorrow, the Riley campaign has cancelled the Ride for Riley that was scheduled for 10:30 tomorrow. Still hope to see people at other events around town!
"

I'm putting together at least 10 riders for the event. If you're interested, all you have to do is pay $10.02 as your donation, and I'll cover the rest so that team as a whole ends up putting in at least $200 or more.
