Thanks for doing my job, y'all!
I rolled into work today, grabbed some last-friday-of-the-month breakfast tacos (we have dope managers who buy us grub), got some tasty coffee, and plonked myself down in front of the glowing screen to see THREE PAGES of emails from all of y'all letting me know of upcoming events, local goings-on, and other assorted news stories and items that were relevant to your interests. THANK YOU! I love how much community feedback I get about shit, it really helps me do what I do. I'm not going to do a detailed write-up on everything because I'm not getting paid to, but here are a few quick email snippets to get y'all the know:
First off, I know everybody already knows about Frankenbike tomorrow, but Nicole sent me word of another big bike sale down south starting at 9AM for all y'all early birds. It sounds like it's mostly vintage 10-12 speeds, mixtes, 3-speed cruisers, and all sorts of other nice looking older bikes of varying age and condition. Prices are going to range from $50 to $395, so even if you're not loaded you can probably find something to ride home on. If you're in the neighborhood, check it out.
Brian Davies was the first of MANY to inform me that the deadline for Bicycle Film Festival submissions has been extended to March 7th. You've got ONE WEEK to get something into the festival if you're wanting to show your work. GET OFF YOUR ASS AND DO IT.
Jessica pointed out that we got another mention in The Chronicle, this time around in the Naked City column. Thanks for the shout-out Dan!
Finally, word around the BAC campfire is that a member is resigning his position. Guess that means an election! You want to join the Bicycle Advisory Council and didn't make it in the last go-round, now might be the time to start showing up to the meetings...
Ok, that's it for now. Critical Mass is coming up in a few hours and I need to get cracking to finish up what I have to do here before bailing for the great outdoors. See y'all at 5!
