Jose Lozano (of badass photography and Texas 4000 fame) just had his bike stolen last night! Be on the lookout for a red 58cm Felt F90 Road Bike matching the following picture/description:

So some asshole decided to ruin my day by stealing my 58cm RED FELT F90 ROAD BIKE some time after 3am last night (Sunday March 8th). It was last seen locked with a Kryptonite combination U-Lock at Taos Co-op on Guadalupe. It has a broken/loose front wheel clasp. The handlebar tape is black and is considerably wearing out. A saddlebag is under the Selle Italia bike seat which contained tools/tubes/lights. It has a few knicks and scrapes along the top of the frame. I have not seen the same exact bike in Austin in my year of owning this bike (and I bike everywhere) so please email me or call me if you see or hear of anyone trying to sell or buy it. Here are a couple photos of the bike: http://www.flickr.com/photos/joseole/3339417978/ and http://austin.craigslist.org/bik/1066058465.html

UPDATE: Looks like Jose isn't the only one around with a red Felt F90:

So this morning, I recieved a call from a woman named Emily who saw this post who phoned to tell me that she spotted a red Felt F90 on campus at UT. I pedaled my little legs as hard and fast as I could to go check it out but unfortuantely it was not my bike. THERE IS AT LEAST ANOTHER RED FELT F90 HERE IN AUSTIN. I left a note explaining the situation on the bike and the owner, a man named Patrick, called me back. I told him about this posting and all the others I have made, letting him know that there are a lot of people keeping their eyes out and I hope he does not get any future problems as a result of my bike being stolen.

There are some discernable differences between our bikes:
His cranks are black, mine are silver.
He has clip in pedals, mine were flatties.
His handlebar tape is black foam, mine was velvet and again considerably worn out.
He has one silver and one black watterbottle cage, both of mine were black.
He had a cateye light on the handlebars and no saddlebag.

I guess that means that if you see some guy riding a red Felt F90 (and it's not Jose) PLEASE DON'T club them with your U-Lock or chain them to the nearest telephone pole. Just call Jose and let him know what you saw. Even though this complicates the recovery, it's excellent to know that people are already contacting Jose over his bike. I always hate to see a bike get stolen, but I really hate to see it get stolen from someone who obviously cares as much about it as Jose does his. Here's to hoping they're reunited in the very near future, and if you think you've seen the bike, please let Jose know.

Got another call from someone about a red Felt F90 on campus and went to check it out only to find that it was again not mine! Strange how I've never seen the same bike in Austin and now here within 3 hours, I've gotten reports on two others. I guess it just means the flyers and postings are working. Strike two....

So this morning, I recieved a call from a woman named Emily who saw this post and phoned to tell me that she spotted a red Felt F90 on campus outside the Flawn Academic Center on the west mall (where Critical Mass meets).

I have two brake sets: one on the handlebar drops and the other on the stem
His cranks are black, mine are silver.
He has clip in pedals, mine were flatties.
His handlebar tape is black foam/cork and looks new, mine was black carbon fiber and again considerably worn out.
He has one silver and one black watterbottle cage, both of mine were black.
He had a cateye light on the handlebars and no saddlebag.

I anticipate getting other calls about this bike so please do not take matters into your own hands or do something stupid. I talked to Patrick and it is obviously not my bike so let the man ride in peace. Otherwise, please continue to keep an eye out for my beloved red Felt F90.
